Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, Archil Talakvadze addressed the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri and police officers in his speech and expressed gratitude for ensuring public order and safety.
“I would like to express my gratitude to each police officer, who dedicated their lives to this difficult profession for enduring public order and safety. I would also like to express my appreciation to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Vakhtang Gomelauri – Stated the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament.
During his speech at the session hall, Archil Talakvadze also addressed and thanked patrol-inspector, Otar Tavartkiladz , who was wounded in the line of duty in Batumi and his partner- Avtandil Mzhavanadze.
“Here, in this hall we have two policemen attending the session. On December 18 Mr. Otar Tavartkiladze and Mr. Avtandil Mzhavanadze were stopped by the civilian, who all of a sudden stabbed Otar Tavartkiladze with a knife. Partner of the wounded police officer, despite the fact that he was wounded as well, managed to detain the offender at the place of crime. The wounded policeman underwent urgent surgery. Thanks to timely response from the side of co-workers, civilians and ambulance crew, Otar Tavartkiladze was saved and today we are hosting him along with his partner”- Stated Archil Talakvadze.
